The University of Eastern Finland invites applications for the above mentioned research areas. The principal duty of the post-doctoral researcher is to complete the research presented in the research proposal. The post-doctoral researcher will also participate in the supervision of academic theses in the post-doctoral researcher’s field of research, and give teaching in the field in question.

Successful applicants to the post-doctoral researcher positions will hold a doctoral degree, which may not have been completed more than five years before the application deadline. In this context, the five-year limit refers to a net period of time, which does not include maternity leaves, parental leaves, or military service, etc. If the applicant pleads to the above mentioned reasons, he or she needs to explain them in the application. Experience in international research cooperation, international researcher mobility, and intent of engaging in international researcher mobility will be regarded as merits.

The post-doctoral researcher positions will be filled for a three-year term beginning on 1 January 2015. Post-doctoral researcher positions are always filled for a fixed term (UEF Administrative Regulations, Section 30). The salary is based on level 5 of the job requirement level chart of the teaching and research staff in the salary system for Finnish universities (€2 840.64/month). In addition to the job requirement component, the salary includes a personal performance component, which may be a maximum of 46.3 % of the job requirement component.
